Appreciate yourself
Most of the time we are so busy satisfying every one that we stop appreciating ourselves. We are working hard in our companies and at the same time, we are the best for our family si between our work and family we lost the connection with ourselves that leads to all problems.

Time Management
Time management is the key to work-life balance. There are a lot of apps available that will help you set your schedule. Though it takes self-discipline to strictly follow that schedule to manage your tasks at the scheduled time so that you will have time to complete things within a reasonable time frame. Set up non-negotiables for your time and let others know of these boundaries.

Create boundaries
You have to create boundaries between your work and personal life. Your work should never disturb your family time and vice versa. Map out a typical week and see where you spend each hour of your day. You can use a spreadsheet or your calendar. When it is family time or relaxation time, you can set this as your non-negotiable to not respond to any work calls or emails.

Impact of work-life misbalance

The constant pressure of modern life is causing adverse effects on our health. Due to this pressure, people are getting way less sleep as compared to the amount of sleep their body needs. This is affecting their health and over time leads to chronic stress and other health issues. The long hours of constant working will cause adverse effects on your heart and mental health. Some of the really blemishing effects of work-life misbalance include:

  • Coronary heart disease
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Mental disorder
  • Stroke

When your sleep is continually shortened and disturbed or interrupted you are putting your life at risk, the chances of you getting cardiovascular diseases increases.

Things you need to do

  • You need to speak up for yourself, take responsibility for your work-life balance is really vital. Don’t let anyone pressure you with the amount of work you cannot do.
  • There is no need to “work-hard” when you can “work-smart”. Don’t put your health at risk with the work that can be done in a very simple way and implementing time management methods.
  • When you are not working, it’s important to learn tools like meditation to tell your mind to switch off and relax. Don’t let your work thoughts disturb your personal or family time.
  • Never compromise on your 6-8 hours’ sleep.
